In this task I was given the instruction to produce the front and contents page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up. The pictures above the text where taken by myself and I will be using one of each photo I took to work on my preliminary task to make a front and contents page.

Preliminary Task - Front Page Draft

In this task I was given an instruction to produce a front page of a new school/college magazine, so what I did to overcome this until I make my main task was to do a rough copy of my cover for my magazine. My rough copy is not 100% but it gives me an idea of what I can or won't include. By doing this I was able to come up with new ideas for my main task and creativity for a good quality piece of worn on my main task.

Natures Finest Magazine

In this task I got requested to make a draft nature magazine so i could get use to making magazines and learning the techniques used and the software behind it. Firstly my media teacher gave us permission to go out of school to take a few pictures on nature and when we come back we'll have to make a nature magazine of the pictures taken.

My 'Natures Finest' Magazine I created

For this task I used Adobe Photoshop to produce my magazine and learnt various amount of new things and by this I also developed my Photoshop skill. I learnt/developed my skills in using filters, brightness, contrast, how to change the size of an image and also the meaning of using layers. This was a fun task to do and it was also giving me knowledge at the same time whilst learning what to add in magazines to make it look appealing and more professional.

The Brief

Preliminary Exercise: produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriate laid-out text and a masthead. Additional candidates must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of the program.

Main Task: produce the front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine.

All images and text used must be original, produced by the candidate, minimum of FOUR images per candidate.
